I'm Yael Segalovitz — a translator, interviewer, and podcaster, but above all a scholar of comparative literature working across English, Hebrew, and Portuguese.

What most drives my work is a seemingly simple question: what happens to us when we read? This question pulls me into an orbit of unexpected constellations that bring together attention studies, sound studies, reading practices, relationality, psychoanalysis, autotheory, sleep, and the surprising afterlives of New Criticism.

I'm currently a Visiting Professor of Comparative Literature at UC Berkeley; a Jewish Studies Teaching Fellow at Stanford; and hold a tenured appointment at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. Feel free to contact me at: yaelsega2@gmail.com
